The projects that the Extended Hands Foundation has successfully completed have been a great achievement for not only us but for the women who had been living in highly agonizing condition. Two of the main reasons why these women do not get themselves treated are lack of knowledge and financial resources.
The underdeveloped countries like Nigeria have failed to educate its people about the harmful effects of the medical conditions which need immediate attention from the experts. This is when the Extended Hands Foundations steps in and organizes events in the country, mostly in villages, to let women and their families know about obstetric fistula and the ways to treat it.
Our recent and old projects like surgeries for VVF carried out in Ogoja with support from Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company/NNPC have always made us realize the importance of organizing such events and allowing more women to know about vesicovaginal fistula and its harmful consequences plus causes.
Some of our older projects including two of them executed in Kebbi state in two different years in which more than 50 women were treated for obstetric fistula. Also, the information about the upcoming events can be found on the website that is updated from time to time to help our donors and sponsors remain well-informed about the activities which we keep organizing to move forward with the heartfelt motive of helping women to treat VVF.
