SYNOPSIS

Forced into a violent marriage, teen Halima must face the medical fallout and social stigma of a childbirth that leaves her body critically damaged.

Following the cinematic release of DRY, the movie was accepted by several film festivals across the world and also received awards.

Private screenings to selected audiences also received great reviews and kick-started important discussions about fistula.

 

Gambia

Screened DRY to leaders and policy makers including Vice President of Gambia, Dr Isatou NjieSaidy. Gambia officially banned child marriage one month after this event.

Congo

Held a private screening for DRY to mark the International Day to End Obstetrical Fistula.

Addressed policy makers and ambassadors on measures to improve girl-child education and maternal health care in Africa.
